Creating yourself
I listened to a documentary about Bob Dylan. It ended with the following wise words from him:
Life is not about finding yourself or finding anything. Life is about creating yourself and creating things.
I think there is a lot of truth in that statement. If we are on a quest to "find ourselves", when will we succeed? Tomorrow? Next year? After 150 drafts?
The truth is that such a mindset will never lead to satisfaction. It's an endless search that leads nowhere but to dissatisfaction.
I can't get no satisfaction, cause I try and I try and I try and I try.
We create ourselves through life, through experiences, through successes and failures. We create ourselves by showing up and saying yes instead of no. We create ourselves every time we write a blog post and hit Publish to share it with the rest of the world.
We create ourselves by shipping more, not less.
