Oops, now I have three blogs
Since moving my blog to Micro.blog, I’ve been experimenting with posting photos and shorter “status update” posts as well. But to be honest, it never felt quite right to throw everything into one place.
So, I tried launching a separate blog for photos, completely disconnected from my main blog. Apart from the initial “Am I posting this to the right blog?” confusion, it actually felt good. (I still hope MB will eventually show the current blog in edit mode, though.)
After that, I started a blog for shorter posts without titles. Since those entries only show up as status updates on my MB timeline and for people following me on Mastodon and Bluesky, that blog is kind of in nowhere land.
Now, I’ve decided to bring them all together — but only in the navigation. The feeds stay separate, which is how I like it. Readers can choose what to subscribe to, or not.
With this change, you’ll now see three sections (four, if you count the search) in the main navigation:
The rest of the links (About, Contact, and Subscribe) have moved down to the footer.
One Micro.blog thing I still haven’t figured out is how to add navigation links without needing redirects. In Safari on Mac and iPhone, it’s like a camera flash goes off when you click them. I hope I can sort that out… otherwise, this idea might end up in the bin.
That’s all for now with this little sandbox setup.
