CSSunday
I’ve spent this Sunday styling my blog. Considering the Zen of CSS, I’d say that counts as a pretty impressive meditation session.
As most bloggers know, it’s always a work in progress. A never-ending cycle of tweaking and playing around, but also a genuinely fun way to be creative while learning new things along the way.
Recent changes
- Updated unique looks for the Books, Movies, Music, and Notes categories.
- Photos now appear without text on the main view.
- Reversed the order on photo permalinks, which just looks better and makes more sense.
- Updated the search page and added it to the main menu (👀).
- New style for posts (inspired by the beautiful mods by Darren Hester).
- Updated the About and 404 pages.
- Added the Postlist, Reply by email, and Surprise me plug-ins.
- Created a Micro.blog Styles page.
- Added ‘Want to read’ section to the Bookshelf.
- Minor color and design fixes here and there.
What’s next?
I’m sure many bloggers recognize this frustrating truth: so many ideas, so little time. Still, here are a few things I’d love to tackle:
- Create a personal color palette for the entire theme.
- Move more of my older content into this new blog.
- Maybe add an option to subscribe via email.
That’s it for today.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! 🤩
