Snapshot Blogging

I have hundreds of Swedish texts from my old blogs. 'Perfect for translating into English, maybe rephrasing a bit, and then post it here,' I thought. But it doesn't work.

Why? It doesn't feel like me writing. It becomes something half-baked in the twilight zone between past and present. Like dyeing an old sweater hoping it will feel modern.

For me, blogging is a snapshot – even if I'm writing about something that happened a long time ago. The content might be timeless, but it still has a timestamp in the form of being written from the person I am here and now. My mood at the moment, today's events, my life situation...

I'm not saying blogging has to be like that, but that's how it works for me. Personally, I also think it makes it easier to blog. It's simply like transferring current thoughts into a readable time document.

Blogging doesn't have to be more complicated than that.
