No shortcuts to wonder
I could’ve done today’s first job over the phone, but I chose to do it in person.
It was a short boat ride out to a little island in the Swedish archipelago I’d never visited before. I didn’t want to miss the chance to see it for myself. It turned out to be a wonderful place.
Last week, though, when I mostly sat behind a desk, I took every shortcut I could think of. I just wanted to get things over with and out of the way.
That can actually be a good compass in life, whether it’s work, exercise, blogging, or something else. If we catch ourselves cutting corners again and again, maybe it’s time to stop and ask:
Is this the right thing for me, at this time in my life?
Maybe it’s time for a temporary change, or a break. Or maybe it’s time for a different path.
Only you know the answer. Stay true to yourself.
Shortcutting through life is cutting life short.
