Blogging builds bridges
In yesterday’s post, Choosing writing, I wrote about my ambivalence toward posting different kinds of content.
I thought I was quite alone in feeling that way. How wrong I was.
The comments show that I’m far from alone. Then think about the people who read it, recognized the dilemma, but didn’t comment. Add to that everyone who never even saw the post, yet still sits quietly in their own corner of the world feeling the same.
When we keep our thoughts to ourselves, it’s easy to forget, or not even realize, that we’re not the only ones. And it doesn’t help much to talk to non-blogging friends about it. They just can’t relate.
But when we write for an audience, we invite another circle of friends. People who understand us on another level. It’s a connection that transcends physical distance, a reminder that blogging builds bridges.
It’s part of the reason why you and I blog. And it’s what we should remind ourselves of whenever we’re in doubt.
Keep on blogging!
