The courage to trust ourselves
I listened to a documentary about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
He shared how, as a rookie in Hollywood, people told him to conform if he wanted to succeed. It made him feel like a fake.
Something starts to eat at your gut. This doesn’t feel right. I’m not being authentic, I’m not being myself.
When he finally ignored all the “good advice” and just did his own thing, something shifted. Hollywood began to adapt to him.
Most of us know that feeling. Everything looks fine on the outside, but inside, there’s that small voice telling us something’s off.
The real question is: Do we ignore it and carry on, or do we pause and listen?
That inner voice might not promise an easy road, but it might be the one that leads us home — if we have the courage to listen.
PS. I also learned through the documentary that The Rock speaks perfect Swedish 🇸🇪😅
