The "just one more" trap
Since I think it would be incredibly boring to end Blaugust 2025 with a post about AI, I decided to write one more today.
I have no idea what it will be about, and I actually like writing that way. It feels a bit mysterious, almost as if someone else is doing the writing.
Personally, I don’t believe in having a strict routine for writing. It creates limits and boundaries, it makes things harder. For the same reason, I prefer exercising in ways that don’t require special places or equipment.
I’m not saying my way is the right way, of course. For many people, the exact opposite is their right way. Whatever works for us — that’s the only thing that matters.
Often, I feel people get so focused on absorbing everything about writing and productivity that almost nothing gets done. It can be helpful, for sure, but we have to be careful. It’s so easy to get stuck in that never-ending spiral of “just this one, then I’m ready”.
No matter how many books, podcasts, videos, or talks we consume, the truth remains the same: in the end, we have to find out for ourselves what works best.
