Where inspiration lives

I’m still home from work. This cold seems to be getting worse before it gets better.

But that’s ok.

What I’ve noticed, though, is how much less inspired I feel. It’s easy to point at the cold, and in a way that’s true.

But I don’t think it’s really about the sickness. The bigger reason, I believe, is not getting out as much.

The world around us is inspiring. Everyday life holds more creativity than we could ever ask for.

Just think of dreams. They’re stories spun from the things we’ve just lived through. The world’s greatest storyteller at work.

Life is creation.

It’s everywhere, available to us here and now. But we have to make ourselves available. We have to show up, stay aware, and be open to the gift of life.

Missing out on that, I believe, is why my inspiration has faded.

Feeling uninspired? Step outside, look around. Just notice the things that have always been there, quietly waiting for your attention.

That’s where inspiration lives.
