Fungus and flow

A growth of white and slightly pinkish mold-like substance is seen on a yellowish surface next to a wooden area.
Fungus I once discovered in a basement.

Today I did an inspection where the homeowner suspected house fungus.

It’s not an assignment I get very often. It involves several steps, like taking samples and sending them to a lab.

Since I don’t do it regularly, I always feel a bit unsure. That, in turn, adds some extra effort, which then adds extra time. If I were doing it every day, or at least a couple of times a week, it would be a whole different story.

It’s a given — if we do something regularly, we get better at it. There’s less friction, and it’s easier to get into the flow.

That goes for blogging too, of course. If we make it a habit, it becomes easier and more fun. We overcome the resistance and get the reward — because blogging becomes something we know, inside and out.

And the good thing compared to checking for house fungus: we don’t need to send our blog posts to a lab for analysis.
