The gift of limitations
Too many dreams get washed away by what we call limitations: not knowledgeable enough, not enough time, too many competitors…
But what if we embraced those limitations instead? What if they could be stepping stones rather than obstacles — a way to point us toward the bare essence of what we’re doing?
Take this blog, for example. My mother tongue is Swedish, so I’ll never write English as fluently as someone who grew up with it.
But instead of seeing that as a limitation, I could turn it into a possibility, a win-win kind of blogging:
- I could keep it short and spot-on.
- I could write in a simple, clear way.
- I could throw in the occasional “or, as we say in Sweden”.
Just a few ideas off the top of my head, but you catch the drift. Or, as we say in Sweden: “fatta galoppen” (catch the gallop).
The point is, there are possibilities hidden inside every limitation — if we just look closely enough.
