A win-win kind of blogging

When I started writing the first post on this blog, I wrote it in Swedish. Then I realized that writing in English might be a good way to improve my language skills at the same time.

I mean, it’s not like I’m writing about the most important things in the universe or the meaning of life. So why not kill two birds with one stone (or, as we say in Sweden in a much gentler way: “two flies with one strike”):

The creative joy of writing while also, hopefully, getting a little better at expressing myself in a language that isn’t my native tongue. Win-win.

I’m sure there will be plenty of Swenglish along the way, but hey, it’s me at least. And I’m sure it’ll be understandable no matter what — and that’s the most important thing, right?

Tack och hej, leverpastej! That’s the Swedish version of “See you later, alligator!” The problem is, ours translates to “Thanks and bye, liver paste!” — not quite as cool… and I don’t even like liver paste.
