Weighing words
I went to the hospital this week (nothing serious).
The doctor explained the various options. Regarding one of the options he rejected, he added:
I am a specialist in this area. Probably the most experienced person in the building.
There was not the slightest hint of bragging in the statement. No prestige, just a simple and true statement.
Very liberating!
How we say what we say is as important as what we say. We can sound like a salesman, an asshole, or a close friend - all depending on how we weigh our words.
Never take speaking lightly.
