I often pass this beautiful building on my way home. I love the pattern the shutters create. 📸

A calm and beautiful moment in between jobs in Saltsjö-Boo. 📸
Found another one of those lovely utility boxes made to look like the building they belong to.

Shot this one during a walk around the block this morning. No idea what the building is, but I think it looks cool.
Beautiful weather here in Stockholm today. First time this year I get to wear my “IndieWeb is Punk” t-shirt without having to wear something over it.
Caught this “follow the white rabbit” moment on my way home from work today. 🐇
Walking into this neighborhood almost felt like stepping into one of the cool paintings by the Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag. 👽
Still and beautiful morning on Tyresö. These lighter days make everything… lighter.
I spotted this car today. Took a quick look at the GPS. It just said: “This is the way.”
Today I had the first job in the archipelago. Summer is getting closer and closer… 🌞
Luckily, this one wasn’t on my house inspection schedule today.

Found this hidden trail that never seemed to end during my coffee break today. You never know what you’ll find when you keep your eyes open.
Trying on my new individually adapted face mask for work, as required by the new rules from the Swedish Work Environment Authority.
Just got myself this year’s Majblomma pin. Every spring in Sweden, kids go around selling them. New design each year. The money goes to children in need and it’s been a tradition since 1907. Simple idea. Beautiful tradition. 🌸
A Saturday evening in Stockholm so quiet that it looks like someone went all-in with an eraser tool.
Stumbled upon this cool little fisherman’s cabin at work.
I’m going through the photos from my latest trip and found this one. There’s something apocalyptic about it, like the past is sending us a message about what future awaits if we don’t sort things out.
This statue by Swedish artist Mats Wikström made me stop while walking by the water in Nacka today. The title, translated into English, is “Long live the fight for a reasonably free Norrland.”
I spotted this cool record store while I was at work today. I love that there are still places like this around. Sometimes the perseverance of the past gives hope for the future.
This was the last photo I shot during my recent visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand. I think it’s a good fit for #SilentSunday 📸🇹🇭
Two kinds of machines I’ve seen on the streets of Chiang Mai and nowhere else: a helmet cleaner and an emergency button. The “don’t push the button” battle felt like a Muay Thai fight. 😊
I passed this vintage workshop while walking the streets of Chiang Mai, and snapped a shot. It almost feels like cheating to take photos of old stuff. It always looks so cool 😎
I walked in and ordered a cappuccino. The barista replied, “Here’s what I found on the web for cupcake chinos.”
People busy on their phones while a blind girl is trying to get by. I’m not saying I’m Mr. Perfect. It could just as well have been me absorbed in my phone. It just feels sad when the contrast becomes so clear.
The bouncer wouldn’t let me in, but it all worked out when I said, “This isn’t the drunk you’re looking for.”
I love checking out small, half-hidden alleys here in Chiang Mai. Especially when it’s dark. There’s always some kind of bright light source that makes the scenes almost feel staged. This photo is straight from the phone, with zero edits.
Two tiny tealights fighting the darkness. Looks like they’re winning. Go light! 🙌🕯️
There’s something about old stuff. You just point and shoot, and it’s going to look cool. Maybe it’s also about the fact that it’s still around, that it has survived people’s urge to trade the old for the new. A sense of “there’s still hope for humanity”.
I’m still so hesitant about posting shorter, title-less posts like this one. Even now, when I have robertbirming.com for longer posts. As if this isn’t considered a “real blog post”. It’s stupid, I know.
Anyway, the photo is from an evening walk around the back alleys of Chiang Mai.
There are so many cool, half-hidden alleys and backyards in Chiang Mai. Around every corner, you find something interesting that makes you stop and take a closer look. It never ends, and I love it. 😎
