After the blogging honeymoon
With this new home for my blog, I’m still on the limited Micro.one $1/month plan. It’s a surprisingly generous setup, with neat features like book tracking and photo collections.
Coming from Bear Blog — a wonderful platform in its own minimalistic “bear necessities” kind of way — this feels like a whole new world. Honestly, it’s a bit overwhelming, and very easy to get carried away.
That’s exactly what I think has happened to me lately. It’s just so much fun to poke around — trying out different features, coming up with new ways to use them, and playing around with themes and plug-ins.
I love it! Maybe a little too much 😅
Anyway, I’ve decided to cool it for a while. I want to focus more on the actual writing, maybe tweak the design here and there, and think about how to best structure things on this new blog abode of mine. I also want to bring in older content I’ve got scattered all over the blogosphere.
I’m still considering using birming.com for shorter posts and robertbirming.com for longer writing, but I haven’t quite decided yet. I like the idea of keeping them separate, but I also like the idea of keeping things simple. If you’ve got any thoughts or personal experience with this kind of setup, feel free to drop a comment or get in touch.
So yeah, that’s the plan for now.
We’ll see how that goes…
