Blog Recycling
I listened to an interview (it’s in English by a Swedish journalist) with the American songwriter and producer Desmond Child. He mentioned that he had used one of his creations in three different productions with three different artists:
- If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man) – Bonnie Tyler
- You Give Love a Bad Name – Bon Jovi
- Kings & Queens – Ava Max
Here’s a short audio clip with the intros back to back.
Same same, but different.
One doesn’t make the other better, worse, or less genuine. Each time, that initial seed has blossomed with something unique – shaped by its environment and the moment in which it was reborn.
Our blog posts are the same.
We write them from our point of view, in that particular moment. If we were to rewrite an old post today, it would most likely turn out quite different. And chances are, we’d think the new version is better.
That’s natural. We live, learn, and grow.
We can use this universal truth on our blogging journey. Dig up an old post and rewrite it from your current perspective. It’s not cheating, and it’s not copying. It’s growth.
Blog recycling is a way to re-engage with yourself and rediscover ideas in a meaningful, rewarding way.
Your blog archive is a treasure chest, and every post inside is a beat of your heart. ❤️
